PalmGari Durán, councilor and spokesperson for the Vox Palma municipal group, has resigned from her position for personal reasons. Vox announced this on Wednesday in a statement thanking her for her dedication to the party.

Durán joined the far-right party with the coalition led by Fulgencio Coll at Palma City Council, after leaving the PP, for whom she was a senator between 2011 and 2015. Previously, she also served as the island's Director of Culture and Heritage for a few months.

According to reports, when she returned to politics, she "resigned from other professional, social, and cultural activities." Specifically, she led the committee that developed the 2023 electoral program and served as spokesperson for the municipal group. During this time, according to the party, "she has demonstrated her politeness, moderation, and excellent discourse, similar to that of the previous spokesperson, Sandra Barceló."

A graduate in Geography and History, she has worked in historical research and was a member of the People's Party (PP). From 2003 to 2005, she was appointed General Coordinator of Culture, Education, Sports, and Youth; from 2005 to 2006, she was manager of the Higher School of Dramatic Art of the Balearic Islands; and from 2006 to 2008, manager of the Higher Conservatory of Music and Dance of the Balearic Islands.

In 2011, she was appointed Island Director of Culture and Heritage for the Island Council of Mallorca, and in the 2011 Spanish general elections, she was elected Senator for Mallorca. She served as First Secretary of the Senate's Rules Committee. Critical of what she saw as a "consummated ideological shift" at the 18th National Congress of the PP, she resigned from the party in February 2017.
