13 years in prison for the man who murdered his partner in the Coanegra stream

Despite this aggravated charge, the sentence has been reduced to 13 years in prison after the defendant deposited €35,000 in compensation to the victim's mother, a circumstance considered a significant mitigating factor of reparation. Both the prosecution and the defense agreed to this request, and the judge delivered the sentence orally. The time the defendant has already served will be deducted from the total sentence. He has already spent time in pretrial detention.The events date back to December 2024, when a pedestrian found the lifeless body of a 34-year-old man in an area near the Coanegra stream. The investigation opened by the Civil Guard determined from the outset that it was a violent death, as the victim had several head contusions. The investigation concluded that the injuries had been caused by the impact of a stone. Shortly afterward, officers arrested another man, with whom the victim allegedly had a romantic relationship, and the judicial authority ordered his provisional imprisonment until the case is resolved.
