52 Tourism sanctioning files expire due to lack of resolution in one year

The Tourism Department of the Consell de Mallorca maintains that this is due to the "underfunded" transfer of powers and the "disastrous" stabilization process initiated in the last legislature.

PalmThe Tourism Department of the Consell de Mallorca (Island Council of Mallorca) acknowledged that a total of 52 sanctioning proceedings that had been initiated have expired because they were neither resolved nor notified within the one-year timeframe. This is stated in the response sent by the department, headed by Councilor José Marcial Rodríguez, to the Socialist group in the island institution, which had inquired about the number of sanctioning proceedings that had expired due to the stipulated time limit. In its response, the Tourism Department indicates that there is no possibility of restarting these proceedings. However, it assures that those affected will be inspected again to verify whether they still meet the necessary conditions to initiate a new report. It also explains that the fact that 52 proceedings have expired due to exceeding the one-year deadline for resolution is due to various issues, including an "underfunded" transfer of powers and the "disastrous" stabilization process initiated in the previous legislature. The tourism sector also attributes this to nine-month contracts, high staff turnover, and the need to provide specialized training for new instructors.
