Ana María Jaume Vanrell, widow of the founder of Melià Hotels, dies
She was married to Gabriel Escarrer and died early Tuesday morning.
PalmAna María Jaume Vanrell, widow of Gabriel Escarrer Julià, founder of Melià Hotels International, passed away early Tuesday morning, her family reported in a statement reported by Europa Press.
The children and grandchildren of Ana María Jaime have expressed their sorrow for the "sudden loss", which "widens the void" left by the death of Gabriel Escarrer nine months ago at 89 years old and which, they say, unites them "even more in the memory and affection that both knew how to sow."
Her family members remembered Ana María for her "big heart, her enormous intuition and empathy, and the generosity with which she made those close to her feel like family," values that will live on in them and in the hundreds of collaborators and friends who always showed their loyalty and commitment.
The family has noted that both her children—Magdalena, Ana, María Antonia, Mercedes, Sebastián, and Gabriel—and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will always remember her "with love, admiration, and gratitude."
