BiciPalma premieres 4 stations and will open 11 more

PalmaBiciPalma has opened four stations at La Teulera, Son Dureta, Son Armadans, and Avinguda de Picasso and plans to launch eleven more in the coming weeks. The action is part of the third phase of service expansion, funded with 750,000 euros and which also includes the incorporation of 150 new bicycles, all electric.

The next stations planned in this phase will be located in Son Rapinya, Son Castelló, La Indioteria, Son Espanyol, Son Sardina, Son Cladera, Son Fuster, Cala Gamba, El Coll d'en Rabassa, Ciutat Jardí, and Can Pastilla.

"BiciPalma is a public service that continues to grow and is part of this government team's commitment to more sustainable mobility and a better-connected city," stated the mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez. This third phase will allow the service to reach new neighborhoods and strengthen both the connection with the center and travel between different points in Palma.

The expansion will continue with a fourth phase, already awarded for 950,000 euros, which plans to incorporate 230 electric bicycles and install 18 new stations. Thirteen will be located in the Playa de Palma area and the other five, on the Passeig Marítim.

With this action, as pointed out by Martínez, the entire Palma coastline will be connected through the public bicycle network. BiciPalma currently has 125 stations and 1,250 bicycles. The service has 51,000 registered users, more than 30,000 of whom are active subscribers, and during 2025 it registered more than 1.6 million journeys.
