PalmEmaya reported this Monday afternoon that it has completed repairs to two water supply lines in Palma that were damaged early this morning and has restored water supply to the areas of Génova and Camino de la Vileta. According to Efe, the repair work was completed by mid-morning in the Génova neighborhood and around 3:30 p.m. on Camino de la Vileta. Over the next few days, the resurfacing and paving work will be completed. The municipal company regretted the inconvenience caused to service customers.

The incident occurred during the early hours of Monday morning, around 5:30 a.m., when two water supply lines in the city suffered damage. The first incident occurred in Vileta, on the slope of the ring road (Ma-20), which caused water to accumulate in the right lane, heading toward the airport, resulting in a serious traffic accident. The second incident occurred almost simultaneously on a section of the Ponent artery, in the Génova area.

Immediately after receiving notice of the initial incident, technicians from Emaya's Urban Quality Department, in coordination with the Consell de Mallorca Road Service, deployed several cleaning units to the affected area of the ring road to drain and clean the flooded lane and allow this section to return to normal traffic. Early this morning, the lane was reopened to vehicle traffic.

Due to the disruptions, water supply disruptions occurred, initially affecting residents, shopkeepers, and businesses in various areas of Palma. Specifically, service was disrupted in the area of the Son Moix stadium, including the radius between the residential area and the ring road, as well as the area adjacent to the Miramar polyclinic, the streets of Joan Gris, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Ripoll i Trobat, and the roundabout that provides access to the ring road.

On the other hand, the water supply has experienced a drop in pressure in the Son Dameto neighborhood and near the Local Police headquarters at the Sant Ferran barracks.
