PalmDuring the early hours of Monday morning, at around 5:30 a.m., two breakdowns occurred on two of the city's water supply arteries. The first incident occurred on Vileta Road, on the slope of the ring road (Ma-20), causing water to accumulate in the right lane, heading toward the airport, which caused a serious traffic accident. The second incident occurred almost simultaneously on a section of the Ponent artery, in the Génova area.

Immediately after becoming aware of the first incident, technicians from the Urban Quality Department of the municipal company Emaya, in coordination with the Road Service of the Consell de Mallorca, have moved to the affected area of the ring road with several cleaning units to drain and clean the flooded lane and make the flooded lane possible. Early this morning, the lane has been reopened to road traffic.

Due to the breakdowns, there have been disruptions to the water supply and residents, shopkeepers and establishments in various areas of Palma have been initially affected. Specifically, service has been interrupted in the area of the Son Moix stadium, including the radius between the residential area and the ring road, as well as the area adjacent to the Miramar polyclinic, the streets of Joan Gris, Salvador Dalí, and Joan Ripoll i Trobat, and the roundabout that provides access to the street.

Furthermore, the supply has experienced a drop in pressure in the Son Dameto neighborhood and in the vicinity of the Local Police headquarters at the Sant Ferran barracks. Finally, the supply has been temporarily interrupted in the Génova neighborhood, but had been fully restored by mid-morning.

At this time, teams from the municipal company Emaya are working intensively in the affected areas to restore normal service as quickly as possible. The repair work is expected to be fully completed by 6:00 p.m. this Monday.
