'Cala Mi Lord', 'Burger', or 'Polensa': Do tourists know how to pronounce the towns in Mallorca they've visited?

In a video from the Ximbomba agency and Mallorca Viral, the interviewees test their level of knowledge of island place names.

Palm'Porto Solea', 'Bar de Mosa', 'Campanei', 'Cala Miloa', 'Cala Mi Lord', 'Cala Santani'. These are some of the responses posted on social media by the marketing agency Ximbomba in collaboration with the Instagram account Mallorca Viral. The agency asked tourists which towns they've visited and posed the following question to users: can you pronounce the names of these towns? In the humorous video, the interviewees' answers to the towns and villages they've visited are particularly interesting.

A woman says 'Cala Agachada', referring to Cala Rajada, another says 'Porto Solea' to describe Puerto de Sóller, while a man says 'Burguer', meaning to point to Búger on the map. 'Pölenka'—as it appears in the video—is another pronunciation used by one of the interviewees to refer to Pollença, which they also pronounce as 'Polensa'. Another man says 'Caldorr' (Golden Cove).

In the video, you can also see that some people don't even know the names, or they just remember them. This is the case of a Spanish-speaking couple who laugh and say they can't remember any names, although they assure us they come to the island every year.

Ximbomba published another video in June in which he tested the knowledge of tourists with a general knowledge "exam" about the Islands. The interviewees, young and old, responded with all sorts of witty quips, such as that the Archipelago is located in the middle of the Atlantic, that the capital is Barcelona, or that Basque is one of the official languages.
