PalmThe 32nd Son Ferriol Fair and the 33rd Palma Half Marathon will cause traffic disruptions and detours on some bus lines on Sunday, as part of a special operation organized by the Local Police and the Municipal Transport Company (EMT). In a statement released this Friday, the Palma City Council indicated that, in the case of Son Ferriol, traffic will be closed to a large part of the town center between approximately 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The affected streets include Avenida del Cid and the following streets: Durán, Cabot, Soldado Muelle Corró, Fausto Bonafé, Lorenzo Frau, San Juan de la Cruz, León XII, Escuela Nacional, Sargento Sancho Mulet, Blatera, and María Anna Bonafé.
In addition, due to the Son Ferriol Fair, the EMT transport service will operate a special shuttle service connecting this area with Son Llàtzer Hospital. Furthermore, due to the 33rd Palma City Half Marathon and the 10K race, there will be vehicle restrictions in the seafront area for the duration of the event. From 7:00 a.m., Gabriel Alomar Avenue will be closed in the direction of Porto Pi, and from 8:00 a.m., traffic disruptions will extend from Porto Pi towards the airport. The road is expected to reopen towards the airport at 1:30 p.m., and at 4:00 p.m. in the direction of Andratx.
Furthermore, due to traffic disruptions caused by the sporting event, EMT will be diverting several bus lines between approximately 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The affected lines will be: L1 (Portopí-Sindicato), L23 (El Arenal | Water Park - Plaza de España), L25 (El Arenal - Plaza de la Reina | Cathedral), L31 (San Jorge - Sindicato), and L35 (Aquarium - Plaza de la Reina | Cathedral). Additionally, the L30 (Marivent-Palau de Congressos) will be out of service during this time. Furthermore, the exit onto the highway from the Parc de la Mar parking lot will be closed, so an alternative route will be available via Antoni Maura towards Passeig de Sagrera. Additionally, the exit to the Passeig Marítim will not be available from the Marqués de la Sènia parking lot.
