Consubal asks to check if Es Jardí Musical serves the 400 ml of beer it charges for at 6 euros
The consumers' association asks the Government to inspect the cups and check if customers really receive the 400 milliliters indicated on the menu
PalmaThe Association of Consumers and Users of the Balearic Islands (Consubal) has reported to the Government a presumed discrepancy between the quantity of beer advertised by Es Jardí Musical on its menu during concerts and the capacity of the glasses it uses to serve it to customers. The entity has filed the complaint with the Directorate General of Benefits, Pharmacy and Consumption and has requested that the Inspection services verify both the real capacity of the containers and the quantity of beer that consumers actually receive.
According to a statement from Consubal, Es Jardí Musical offers during its concerts a beer that appears on the menu with a quantity of 400 milliliters and a price of six euros. The association assures that it has carried out checks on the container used to serve this drink and that these would indicate that its capacity is less than the 400 milliliters advertised. According to Consubal, even filling the glass to its maximum physical capacity would not make it possible to reach the quantity indicated on the menu.
Consubal requests an inspection
Given this situation, the association has requested that the Government's Consumer Inspection services officially determine whether there is a difference between the quantity advertised by the establishment and that which is delivered to customers. Consubal considers this verification necessary to determine if the information on the menu corresponds to the product actually served to consumers.
The entity recalls that information about the characteristics of products and services must be "clear and truthful", especially when this information may influence consumers' purchasing decisions and their assessment of the price. The complaint does not imply, therefore, that the alleged irregularity has been proven, but rather that Consubal requests that the Administration carry out the corresponding checks and determine if the quantity of beer served matches the 400 milliliters advertised by Es Jardí Musical.
