PalmA taxi driver from Sóller has taken to social media to denounce the actions of a local police officer after being fined €200 while accompanying a wheelchair-bound passenger to her home. As he explains in a Facebook post, he stopped the adapted taxi to a disabled parking space near the taxi rank, as the area was occupied by other vehicles, and helped the woman for five minutes to accompany her to her home. When he returned, he was faced with the fine.

The taxi driver claims that, when he tried to explain the case to the officer, the response was negative. The man told the officer that whenever the police call him about wheelchair trips, he will help even if it's not his responsibility. In response, the officer told him: "God, don't do the service."

The professional laments the lack of "empathy and ethics" and criticizes the fact that, despite regularly collaborating with the Local Police in transporting wheelchair users, the situation was not taken into account on this occasion.
