The Marratxí parties agree to create a joint commission to protect the green lung of Son Bonet
The meeting in Pla de na Tesa also reaffirms the political rejection of the planned photovoltaic park in the area
MarratxíThe debate about the future of Son Bonet continues to generate movement in Marratxí. This Saturday, Pla de na Tesa hosted a participatory meeting between political representatives, entities, and residents to discuss possible protection measures for the aerodrome's surroundings.
Representatives from MÉS per Marratxí, PP, and PSOE participated in the meeting, with the presence of Aina Amengual, Miquel Cabot, and Xisco Ferrà, who initially intervened on behalf of Mayor Jaume Llompart. Vox, despite having been invited, did not attend.
One of the main points of agreement was the rejection of the photovoltaic park planned for Son Bonet. The parties present also agreed on the need to strengthen the protection of this area in light of the latest expansion proposals and new uses linked to the aerodrome.
Among the agreed-upon measures is the creation of a joint commission with participation from the government team, the opposition, and social entities. The idea is to create a collaborative workspace to share information, coordinate proposals, and convey initiatives to institutions such as the Consell de Mallorca, the Balearic Government, or AENA.
During the debate, possible formulas to territorially safeguard Son Bonet were also proposed. MÉS proposed studying the inclusion of the area within maximum protection categories in the Insular Territorial Plan, while the PSOE advocated for the need for specialized legal advice to analyze legal protection avenues.
Furthermore, it was agreed to request a meeting with the President of the Government, Marga Prohens, and with the President of the Consell de Mallorca, Llorenç Galmés, with the intention of directly conveying the existing concerns about the future of Son Bonet.
The debate about this area has intensified in recent months due to projects linked to the aerodrome and the growing concern about the potential impact on nearby residential areas and Marratxí's territorial model.
