Thus, in recent days, the door of the chapel, which had been damaged, has been repaired and a replica of the image has been temporarily installed. With this action, the municipality wants to make it clear that it does not give in: "We do not renounce you! Let them return it now!", the City Council has forcefully stated on social media, expressing the desire shared with all the people to recover the original figure that has presided over and guarded this place for more than 100 years.

The investigation remains open, while the new provisional image once again welcomes neighbors and visitors from its niche on Carrer Major. The Guardia Civil, in collaboration with the Local Police, keeps the investigation completely open to try to ascertain the identity of the perpetrators of the theft and locate the heritage piece.

It should be remembered that, as it is a cataloged asset, those responsible for this theft could face very high financial penalties and even prison sentences.

The City Council reiterates the call for citizen collaboration for any clue that may help resolve the case and ensure that the original Virgin Mary returns to her place.
