PalmThe National Police, following a report of a couple's argument, have dismantled an indoor marijuana plantation in a home in Ciutadella and arrested a man and a woman as alleged perpetrators of a crime against public health. During the operation, €8,877 in bills, 46 marijuana plants, and 284 grams of marijuana buds prepared for sale were seized, according to Europa Press.
A heated argument between a couple on August 5, which required the mobilization of Local and National Police patrols, led to the discovery of the plantation, as officers dispatched to the home noticed a strong odor of marijuana. They immediately notified the Court and the Judicial Police, who were able to enter and search the home last week. It was then confirmed that the house had been converted into a marijuana laboratory or plantation.
The windows had been covered and electronic equipment installed, from air conditioning to fans, in addition to modifying the electrical system to ensure the temperature and humidity conditions necessary for marijuana cultivation.
During the search, investigators also found jewelry, brand-name clothing and accessories, as well as high-value electronic devices, leading to the suspicion that selling narcotics allowed them to maintain a hectic lifestyle.
