Declared a forest fire of severity 1 in the Feixes of Ibiza originated in an uninhabited dwelling

PalmaA fire originating in a sub-standard dwelling located in the Feixes area, specifically in Prat de les Monges, has forced a large emergency deployment in Ibiza this Monday. The Balearic Nature Institute (IBANAT) declared the fire as potential severity 1 at 2:45 PM, due to the proximity of the flames to homes, although the fire was stabilized shortly before 4:00 PM.
From the first alert, the Local Police of Ibiza has moved to the scene to collaborate in security tasks and support the extinction teams. Personnel from IBANAT with air and land resources participated in the operation, in addition to the Ibiza Council Firefighters and the rest of the emergency services, who managed to stabilize the fire.
The mayor of Ibiza, Rafael Triguero, highlighted the rapid response of the deployed services and thanked "the coordination of all the professionals who participated in the extinction and protection tasks of the area". He also called on citizens to continue avoiding approaching the affected area while the emergency teams maintain surveillance and perimeter securing tasks.
