Declared a forest fire of severity 1 in Feixes d'Eivissa originated in an informal dwelling

PalmaA fire originating in an undersized dwelling located in the Feixes area, specifically in Prat de les Monges, has forced the mobilization of a large emergency device this Monday. The Balearic Nature Institute (IBANAT) has confirmed that it is a forest fire of severity 1, declared at 2:45 p.m.

From the first alert, the Local Police of Ibiza has moved to the scene to collaborate in security tasks and support the extinction teams. Ibanat personnel are involved in the operation, working with air resources, in addition to the Ibiza Council Firefighters and the rest of the emergency services and bodies.

The mayor of Ibiza, Rafael Triguero, has highlighted the rapid response of the deployed services and has thanked "the coordination of all the professionals participating in the fire extinction and zone protection tasks". The mayor has also called on citizens to avoid approaching the affected area, facilitate the work of the emergency teams, and follow the authorities' instructions at all times. The Ibiza City Council has reported that it will continue to provide information on the evolution of the fire as developments occur.
