Forest fires have burned 22.52 hectares in 2025 in the Balearic Islands.

The Ministry reminded that between May 1 and October 15, fires cannot be lit in the forest.

PalmForest fires have burned 22.52 hectares in the Balearic Islands between January 1 and August 1, 2025, in a total of 41 fire incidents or incipient fires.

This is indicated by data published this Saturday by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and the Natural Environment. By island, during the first seven months of 2025, 19 fires have been recorded in Mallorca (with 17.31 hectares affected); in Ibiza, 15 (2.01 hectares); in Menorca, 7 (3.20 hectares); and towards Formentera.

Of the total burned area, 19.81 hectares correspond to deforested areas and 2.71 hectares to wooded areas. The Ministry reminded that between May 1 and October 15, lighting fires in forests and within 50 meters of them is prohibited. In addition, specific authorization is required between 50 and 500 meters from a forest area.
