The weather in the Balearic Islands

Heat keeps the Balearic Islands on alert: high temperatures will continue all week.

The heat wave is expected to last until next Monday.

PalmThe Balearic Islands continue with a yellow heat warning this Wednesday (temperatures expected to range between 20 and 34 degrees Celsius) on the eleventh day of a heat wave affecting the entire state since August 3rd, which will likely last until next Monday. The sky will be partly cloudy to clear with periods of high clouds during the afternoon.

"Unprecedented"

On the other hand, the agency has warned that "with the observed and forecast data, there is no precedent for a period between August 1 and 20 as warm as that of 2025" in Spain. As it explained, the only comparable period is the same in August 2003.

In this sense, it indicates that Tuesday the 12th was the warmest day in Spain as a whole during the heat wave and also of the entire summer.

In fact, it emphasizes that there has not been such a high average temperature on August 11 and 12 since at least 1950. According to the forecast, the 16th and 17th could also be record-breaking.
