Israel's participation in the World Fencing Cup in Palma is denounced: "It is a genocidal state"
Citizens for Palestine have encouraged a boycott of the State of Israel
PalmPalma is hosting the Senior Fencing World Cup from November 6th to 9th, bringing together 450 fencers and more than 50 teams. Among the participating countries, the organization Citizens for Palestine has denounced the presence of Israel. "We cannot allow a genocidal state to become normalized anywhere," they stated. Therefore, they have encouraged citizens to continue protesting against the genocide of the Palestinian people and to boycott Israel. "There will be no peace until there is justice," they declared.
For her part, Lucía Muñoz, the Podemos councilwoman in Palma who also traveled aboard the flotilla and was imprisoned in Israel, criticized the state's presence in the sporting competition. "Wasn't it clear from the Vuelta a España protests that we don't want Israel in our competitions?" the councilwoman stated on her X profile.
The individual events are held at the Rudy Fernández sports center and the semi-finals and finals will be played this Saturday, November 8, starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Palau de Congressos in Palma.
