PalmaThe organization of the Es Jardí festival denied this Friday in a statement that it serves a smaller amount of beer than advertised and has assured that the checks carried out confirm that the reusable cups used have the capacity to contain the 400ml offered. Es Jardí has thus responded to the complaint filed by the Consumers' association Consubal before the Government's General Directorate of Consumer Affairs due to an alleged discrepancy between the 400ml of beer advertised and the capacity of the cups used at the festival.

The organization has "categorically and forcefully" rejected that there is a consistent practice of supplying less product than advertised to the public and has stated that the cups were "specifically" selected from the supplier company to meet this capacity. Furthermore, it maintains that it has the necessary documentation to prove that the containers used are suitable for 400 ml beer servings. Es Jardí explained that, following the reports regarding Consubal's complaint, it carried out checks on the cups used and that these verifications confirmed that their capacity "is correct to contain 400ml".

The organization has pointed out that a distinction must be made between the capacity of the container and the free space that may remain between the level of the served drink and the top rim. Es Jardí states that this margin allows for proper service, transport, and consumption, prevents spills, and also takes into account the foam generated by a draught beer. The organization has also assured that it keeps its service processes subject to internal controls and that it will collaborate with the competent authorities regarding any request related to this matter.
