PalmOn July 26, the Palma Local Police arrested a man for allegedly stealing a sports bag, having threatened two tourists with a knife and stealing several of their belongings.

In a press release, the Palma Local Police reported that officers arrested a 57-year-old man on July 26 for allegedly stealing a sports bag. The operation took place on Ricard Ankerman Street.

A patrol car was dispatched to the scene after receiving a call about a struggle over the theft of a bag. Upon arrival, the officers were stopped by two young tourists, who explained that a man had just stolen a sports bag from them and that, when they complained about the incident, the man pulled out a knife and threatened them.

While officers were interviewing the suspect, who denied the incident, a neighbor alerted the patrol car and told them he had seen the man hiding an object under a parked vehicle. The officers inspected the area and found the knife, which the young men recognized as the weapon used to threaten them.

The victims stated that 600 euros in cash were missing from the bag, which was not located during the intervention. Finally, the man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of the crime of robbery with intimidation, and the Police Investigation Division prepared the corresponding police report.
