Man arrested for stabbing another in a drug fight in Palma
The events took place around 1:30 a.m.
PalmaThe National Police have arrested a man as the alleged perpetrator of an attempted homicide for stabbing another man in the abdomen during a drug-related dispute in Son Gotleu.
The events occurred last Tuesday, around 1:30 AM, when several patrols in the Son Gotleu area were alerted that a badly injured man was in Plaça de Fra Joan Alcina, according to the Superior Directorate of the Balearic Islands.
Upon arrival, they found the victim lying on the ground, being assisted by several passers-by. The injured man had a stab wound to the abdominal area with significant blood loss and was urgently transported by ambulance to the hospital, where he underwent surgery.
Several patrols located the alleged perpetrator of the incident, who was nearby, being held by several citizens.
The police found a knife when they intercepted the detainee, who, minutes later, tried to get rid of a second knife, which was also recovered upon hearing it fall inside the vehicle. Several witnesses to the events explained that the aggressor and the victim were arguing while walking.
Witnesses indicated that the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing had been looking for the victim for several days because he had sold him poorly quality drugs. The Homicide Group of the National Police continues to investigate the facts to determine the specific causes of the assault.
