A man was caught illegally dumping debris on a public road.

PalmA few weeks ago, the Palma Local Police Drone Unit caught a person illegally dumping rubble on the Llucmajor road.

The force, which has already reported the man, was able to detect the illegal dumping thanks to the drones they were using while conducting surveillance from Mercapalma, as part of preparations for an operation in Son Banya. At that moment, the drones captured a van approaching the site and the occupants unloading construction rubble in an open field.

Although the preparation phase for the imminent operation prevented the immediate interception of the vehicle, the images and photographs obtained by the drone were made available to the Investigation and Monitoring of Complaints Group, which began investigations to identify the owner of the vehicle involved.

The person responsible for dumping the debris was reported for a serious violation of the Municipal Ordinance on Cleaning, Disposal, and Solid Urban Waste, carrying a fine of up to 1,500 euros. The person responsible must also cover the costs of removing the debris.
