A man dies after a gasoline drum explodes while he was working with an angle grinder in Pollença
Despite the efforts of the health workers to revive him, they could do nothing to save his life
PalmaA man died this Wednesday while cutting a gasoline drum with an angle grinder in an agricultural area of Pollensa, near the Torre d'Ariant.
According to SAMU, the fatal accident occurred around 2:33 PM when the Emergency services alerted to an unconscious and very serious person, although they were still breathing. Likewise, the man also suffered second and third-degree burns to his head and legs.
Three ambulances and a helicopter were dispatched to the scene, where they found the accident victim in cardiorespiratory arrest. Although the paramedics made several attempts to revive him, they could do nothing to save his life due to the severity of the injuries he presented. The Territorial Teams of Judicial Police (ETPJ) of the Civil Guard of Pollensa are investigating the facts, and the initial hypotheses suggest that while he was working on maintenance tasks on the farm, when cutting the lid of a drum with the angle grinder, it exploded and caused a large cut to his head.
