More than 1,000 public workers will be able to train in Catalan from September
The Catalan language training plan 2026 includes levels B2, C1 and C2, administrative language and five semi-face-to-face courses in the Islands
PalmaThe Balearic Government has launched the Catalan Language Training Plan 2026, which offers more than 1,000 places in courses and workshops for public employees in the Islands. The initiative, organized through the Balearic School of Public Administration (EBAP), has a budget of 117,851.86 euros.
The main novelty of this call is the recovery, as a pilot project, of the blended learning modality, with five courses: three in Mallorca, one in Menorca, and one in Ibiza. The Government argues that this formula allows for expanding training options and specifically focusing on oral and written expression skills.
Precisely, these two areas are the ones that concentrate the largest number of students who do not reach the minimum score in the evaluation tests, as explained by the Executive.
Courses for B2, C1, and C2 levels and administrative language
The plan includes training corresponding to levels B2, C1, and C2 of Catalan, in addition to administrative language courses. The offer will be completed with evaluation tests and the issuance of the corresponding certificates.
The training will also maintain the online modality for the different levels and for administrative language. The courses will begin at the end of September and finish in February 2027, while the evaluation tests will be held during the month of March 2027. The call is aimed at active personnel of the Administration of the Autonomous Community, including the Health Service and teaching staff, in addition to workers from the instrumental public sector and statutory bodies that have an agreement with EBAP.
Employees of the administrative services of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) and active personnel from other public administrations and entities dependent on them in the Balearic Islands can also participate. The deadline to apply for a place ended on July 14th. Now, during the coming weeks, EBAP will publish the lists of admitted, excluded, and waiting persons. The plan has a budget of 117,851.86 euros to finance the training offer and the corresponding evaluation calls.
