More than 1,000 teachers participate in this Saturday's competitive examinations

PalmThe Ministry of Education and Universities began this Saturday the selection process tests for entry into the teaching corps. Of the total of 1,335 admitted candidates, 1,082 teachers finally showed up, opting for one of the 630 positions called this year.

Regarding territorial distribution, the applicants are distributed with 788 in Mallorca, 58 in Menorca, 224 in Ibiza, and 12 in Formentera. The positions called are distributed with 393 in Mallorca, 35 in Menorca, 184 in Ibiza, and 18 in Formentera.

The selection process is carried out with 78 tribunals, distributed with 46 in Mallorca, 22 in Ibiza, 9 in Menorca, and 1 in Formentera.

The Minister of Education and Universities, Antoni Vera, was present at the start of the tests in the Guillem Cifre de Colonya building of the University of the Balearic Islands, where he wanted to greet and encourage the applicants. Vera highlighted that the Ministry calls for the maximum number of positions possible with the aim of guaranteeing the proper functioning of educational centers from the start of the course and to facilitate the maximum number of teachers possible joining their positions from the first academic day.

The tests this Saturday and Sunday are held in different venues throughout the Islands. In Mallorca, the exams are carried out in the Guillem Cifre de Colonya building of the University of the Balearic Islands, at IES Politècnic, at IES Marratxí, at IES Josep Sureda i Blanes, at the Escola Superior de Disseny de les Illes Balears, at the Escola Oficial d’Idiomes Andreu Crespí Plaza, at the Conservatori Professional de Música i Dansa de Mallorca, at CIFP Politècnic de Llevant, at CIFP Juníper Serra, at CIFP Francesc de Borja Moll, and at CIFP Pau Casesnoves. In Ibiza, the tests are held at IES Quartó del Rei i sa Serra; in Menorca, at IES Pasqual Calbó, and in Formentera, at CEIP Sant Ferran de ses Roques.
