New linguistic aggression in a bar in Palma: "Spanish is spoken here, Catalan bitches"

PalmNew linguistic discrimination against a group of Catalan-speaking people, in a bar located on Calle de Jesús in Palma. As explained by the people who suffered the discrimination, the events took place last Friday afternoon in the bar S'ànnera xafardera by the person who identified himself as the owner. As soon as they arrived and placed their order in Catalan, they explain, the man told a waiter to attend to them, that "he was good at languages," they point out.

At the time of payment, they explain that they approached the man to resolve a misunderstanding that had occurred on the ticket, as several drinks appeared that had already been paid for by a group of people who had left earlier, and they asked for the already paid orders to be deducted from the last ticket. Then the man accused them of not wanting to pay, called them thieves and began to insult them for speaking Catalan. Nevertheless, the customers paid for the remaining drinks.

At that moment, the man began to shout at them: "Here we speak Spanish, we are in Spain, fucking Catalans", were some of the insults that the person in charge of the establishment used against the group of people who have reported the aggression. Faced with the events, they decided to ask him for the complaint form, the man refused to give it to them and told them to call the Police, if they wanted. As a consequence of having denied them the right to file a complaint through the complaint form, they decided to call the Local Police and, given the growing nervousness of the man who, according to the account of the complainants, kept insulting them and hitting the counter with his fists, they decided to wait for the agents' intervention outside the bar. The Police assured them that they had a lot of work and that they would go when they could.

From inside, the man continued to be nervous and began to throw tickets and other objects towards the shop window facing the street. As a result of the man's violent behavior, the affected parties called the Local Police for the second time and, after waiting a reasonable amount of time, decided to leave the premises. Despite the fact that the officers never arrived and given the seriousness of the events, the witnesses explain that they will take legal action against the establishment. Especially after the surprise that this Saturday the man decided to publish a photograph on the establishment's social media where their faces are visible and he insults them.
