A nursing assistant has been suspended for assaulting an intoxicated patient at a hospital in Palma.

PalmA nursing assistant was sentenced on Tuesday to one year in prison and a four-year ban from practicing any healthcare profession for sexually assaulting a patient in a Palma hospital. The Second Section of the Provincial Court issued the sentence after the parties reached an agreement before the trial. The man admitted that on October 11, 2021, while the victim was hospitalized, lying in bed with her eyes closed and intoxicated, he sexually assaulted her on three or four occasions. The man will avoid prison if he does not commit any further offenses in the next four years and pays the €5,000 in civil damages within six months.
