Paca's daughter-in-law admits to having introduced five kilos of cocaine into Son Banya

PalmaThe daughter-in-law of La Paca and wife of Ico, well-known drug traffickers from Son Banya, admitted this Monday to having participated in the introduction of five kilos of cocaine into the settlement between the months of June and November 2024. She did so during the first session of the trial at the Second Section of the Provincial Court of the Balearic Islands.

The accused and four other defendants reached a plea agreement with the Public Prosecutor's Office before the start of the oral hearing. All five acknowledged the facts imputed to them by the Public Ministry and, therefore, will end up being convicted. The details of the agreement have not been disclosed, but it is expected that the sentences will be lower than those initially requested by the Prosecutor's Office.

The trial will continue solely against the sixth defendant, who refused to reach a deal with the Superior Prosecutor of the Balearic Islands, Adrián Salazar.

Initially, the Prosecutor's Office requested 16 and a half years in prison and a fine of 1.3 million euros for La Paca's daughter-in-law for crimes against public health, membership in a criminal organization, assault on an authority agent, and road safety offenses.

For the other four defendants who accepted the plea agreement, the request was nine and a half years in prison and a fine of 1.3 million euros for crimes against public health and membership in a criminal organization. For the sixth defendant, to whom the aggravating circumstance of recidivism is applied, the Prosecutor's Office requested ten and a half years in prison.

Four kilos inside a Real Madrid bag

According to the prosecutor's indictment, the events took place between June and November 2024. During this period, the main defendant, who resided in Alicante but maintained a close relationship with Son Banya for family reasons, had allegedly introduced cocaine periodically into the settlement and withdrawn the economic benefits derived from the trafficking.

The woman traveled several times to Mallorca by car, even though she had never obtained a driver's license.

The National Police were monitoring her and detected that several of the other defendants, some of whom were relatives of the main defendant, had traveled from Alicante to Palma to make a significant delivery of drugs.

At the time of the transaction, they handed her four of the five packages of cocaine, each weighing approximately one kilo. The drugs were placed inside a bag with the Real Madrid crest, while the other individuals involved kept the fifth package.

The officers intervened at that moment and a police vehicle blocked the woman's path. According to the Prosecutor's account, however, the defendant tried to flee and drove her car towards the officers at high speed.

During the escape, she also allegedly collided with a Civil Guard patrol that was trying to block her path. After several escape attempts and a warning shot into the air, the officers managed to intercept the vehicle.

Inside the car, they located the bag with four packages of cocaine, which weighed just over four kilos and had an estimated value of more than 400,000 euros.

The other defendants were also arrested. Some were apprehended while driving in a van, and the other when he was inside a hotel room in S'Arenal, in Llucmajor. The officers located the fifth package of cocaine hidden inside the false ceiling.
