Provisional prison for the man who caused the fatal accident in Portocristo

He is accused of a presumed crime of reckless homicide, injuries and against road safety

PalmaThe presiding judge of Chamber 1 of the Instruction Section of the Manacor Court of First Instance has ordered provisional communication and no-bail custody for the detainee in the fatal accident in Portocristo. The accused is under investigation for an alleged crime of reckless homicide, injuries, and against road safety, as reported by the Superior Court of Justice of the Balearic Islands.

The driver was arrested this Tuesday for allegedly causing the traffic accident that occurred in Portocristo (Manacor) last Sunday, in which a 23-year-old young woman died. The Civil Guard agents brought him this morning to the Manacor courts, where he was placed at the disposal of the duty judge.

The accident occurred around 11:45 PM on Sunday at kilometer seven of the Dt.-4020. The car went off the road on the left side, overturned, and collided with a tree. A 23-year-old young woman was trapped inside the vehicle and died instantly. Another passenger, aged 41, was seriously injured, while the third, aged 35, sustained minor injuries, according to SAMU 061. The alleged perpetrator was hospitalized and this Tuesday, after being discharged, was arrested.
