PalmSeveral families facing eviction from the substandard housing in Son Bordoy, where they have lived for years, addressed Palma City Council on Thursday to protest their situation and demand alternative housing. "A lot of talk and little action," Ángela Pons, spokesperson for the Platform of People Affected by Mortgages (PAH) of Mallorca, reproached the governing team during her speech. She lamented that the eviction would leave nearly 200 people homeless, including some with disabilities, victims of gender violence, and minors. The PAH demanded an urgent solution for these families from Mayor Jaime Martínez. "We don't belong to any party; we are part of the community," she asserted, adding that "the funniest thing" is that "these people voted for Vox."
