Fire at Can Milec, in Muro, controlled, after burning 15.8 hectares
Still 33 forest firefighters, 4 fire engines and 2 environmental agents are working there to extinguish the hot spots within the perimeter of the fire
PalmaThe Balearic Nature Institute (Ibanat) has declared the forest fire in Can Milec, in the municipality of Muro, under control, after the fire burned 15.82 hectares of agricultural and forest vegetation.
Almost a day after the fire broke out, 4 water tenders, 33 forest firefighters, and 2 environmental agents are still working on the ground, according to the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Environment. Four aerial resources were also mobilized during the firefighting efforts.
The fire, which broke out with zero potential severity, was stabilized late on Monday, around 11:18 PM, and was declared under control this Tuesday at 5:30 PM.
Although the affected area is already delimited, emergency services continue to work there, as there are still some hot spots within the fire perimeter.
