PalmThe Manacor City Council has closed and sealed off a section of the Les Coves Blanques promenade in Portocristo due to a rockfall in the area, with the aim of ensuring safety. The action was taken after the Local Police's Coastal Territorial Unit reported the rockfall to the Urban Planning and Housing Department. A subsequent technical inspection confirmed that the rockfall may have been related to the recent heavy rains. Following the inspection, municipal technical services determined that the initial closure was insufficient and ordered the installation of temporary construction barriers to reinforce the safety of the affected area. The City Council has also requested that the Directorate General of Coasts and Coastline of the Government of the Balearic Islands visit and inspect the site of the incident in order to establish the appropriate measures to avoid risks to the public and prevent future landslides. The Council has asked the public to respect the temporary closure and safety instructions until definitive actions are determined.
