Sencelles launches an information channel in English and German
The messages will arrive on mobile phones in Catalan, English and German, and the City Council will offer Catalan courses to promote integration.
SimpleThe Sencelles Town Council has launched a new communication channel via WhatsApp for foreign residents of the municipality, with the aim of facilitating access to municipal information for the foreign community living in Sencelles. This new service will allow residents to receive local news, information about activities, and municipal notices directly on their mobile phones. Communications will be conducted in English and German, two of the most common languages among foreign residents of the municipality. Until now, the service was offered in Catalan through a WhatsApp distribution list at the number +34 685 807 364.
Messages will be sent first in Catalan and later translated into English and German. In addition, the Town Hall plans to offer specific Catalan courses for members of this group, with the aim of promoting language learning and facilitating the integration of foreign residents.
The Town Hall explains that the initiative aims to improve communication with residents who do not speak Catalan or Spanish as their primary language, thus enabling them to stay up-to-date on local news and activities taking place in the town.
To join the channel, interested individuals simply need to send their name via WhatsApp to the number provided by the Town Hall: +34 675 171 005.
With this initiative, the Sencelles Town Hall takes another step towards making municipal information more accessible to all Sencelles residents.
