Seriously injured a young man who hit his head against a wall during a football match in Coll d'en Rabassa

PalmaA young 16-year-old footballer has been seriously injured and admitted to the ICU of a hospital in Palma after hitting his head against a protective wall at the Collerense field.

The incident occurred this Sunday, during the match played at this field between Collerense and Unió Esportiva Santa Maria. During a play, the young player of the local team hit his head against the protective wall.

The trauma initially seemed of little importance and the footballer was transferred by ambulance to a clinic in Palma. However, already at the hospital, the young man began to vomit and lose consciousness.

After performing a CT scan, his admission to the ICU was decided, and on Monday morning he was transferred to a ward. After a second test, he has been discharged from the hospital. It should be recalled that following a similar incident that occurred in Ibiza three years ago, the island council opened a line of subsidies for fields to improve their protections.
