The incident occurred on Saturday when the Civil Guard in Santa Margalida received a phone call from a citizen alerting officers of a fire at the rural property where he lives.
The citizen security patrol from that location quickly went to the call and were able to verify the truth of the incident and call 112. At the same time, officers began evacuating people from neighboring properties. They also responded to the affected property, where two people were trying to extinguish the fire with a hose. Both showed obvious signs of being affected by the smoke.
The officers evacuated the couple to a safe location until the fire department arrived, who managed to extinguish the fire, which had spread to an area of one hectare. Ultimately, the officers' swift intervention prevented further damage and ensured the safety of the neighbors affected by the blaze.
