PalmThe families of the Son Sardina school have unanimously decided to continue not sending their children to class, despite the measures announced by the Ministry of Education. The parents consider that the fact that Miquel Roldán only performs support work and is always accompanied by a tutor is "insufficient" and does not guarantee the safety of the children.
In a statement, they explained that they made this decision after obtaining legal advice and assessing the actions of the Education Department.
Given the seriousness of the case, they urge the President of the Government, Margalida Prohens, and Minister Vera to visit the center and meet with family representatives next Monday, September 15. Until then, they assure us that the children will not return to the classroom.
It should be remembered that, in 2023, Roldán was sentenced to one year in prison and was found guilty of a crime ofharassment of a minor, but he was not disqualified. When it was announced that Miquel Roldán would be teaching the sixth-grade students at Son Sardina School, parents sent a letter stating that his mere presence at the school "generates alarm, mistrust, and fear," and emphasizing that their children have "the right to grow and learn in a protected environment."
