Teacher Pilar Castelló dies at 73 years old

Castellón was recognized with the Ramon Llull award in 2020

PalmaThe teacher and speech therapist Pilar Castelló, Ramon Llull award 2020, has died at 73 years of age. The President of the Government, Marga Prohens, and the rest of the Government expressed their condolences this Tuesday and highlighted Castelló's dedication to public service, which began in 1977, when she became the first woman to hold a permanent civil servant position at the Formentera City Council.

In 1988, she definitively joined the educational field, first as a teacher and then as a school principal until her retirement. Pilar Castelló's professional career as a public worker and teacher at CEIP Mestre Lluís Andreu, and with management roles for the last 21 years, contributed to enriching, strengthening, and structuring public education on the island of Formentera. In 2020, the Governing Council awarded her the Ramon Llull prize for her professional career in the educational world.
