PalmBalearic Islands Day 2026 will take place between February 26 and March 2, with March 1 as the main day. The Balearic Government presented a program this Wednesday that includes 301 activities spread across Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. Under the slogan 'A way of being', the Diada maintains the participatory format of recent years and reinforces the presence of children's activities, popular culture, local products, crafts, and sporting events.

The distribution of events for Balearic Islands Day 2026 is as follows:

  • Mallorca: 258 activities (219 in Palma and 39 in other municipalities)
  • Menorca: 16 activities
  • Ibiza: 22 activities
  • Formentera: 5 activities

The Balearic Government has increased the number of agreements with municipalities in Mallorca, from 27 to 30, and maintains collaboration with the island councils so that each island can adapt the programming to its specific circumstances.

Highlights of Balearic Islands Day 2026

  • Concerts by the Balearic Islands Symphony Orchestra on February 26 in Manacor and on March 2 in Palma.
  • Ramon Llull Awards Gala and Gold Medal presentation on February 28th at the Lonja.
  • Main celebration on March 1st and 2nd with simultaneous activities throughout the Archipelago.

The main spaces in Palma

Palma will host most of the main events on March 1st. The Balearic Market will feature 175 craft and retail stalls. The Local Products area, in the Hort del Rei, will bring together 48 producers. In the Plaça de les Drassanes, there will be stalls related to the fishing sector. The Parc de la Mar will host the Government Exhibition with 33 stalls from all the government departments, along with informative, educational, and participatory activities.

Sports, culture, and news

The program includes exhibitions, musical performances by artists from the archipelago, craft workshops, and activities in heritage sites. In the sports arena, there will be the Balearic Islands Cycling Tour, jogging competitions, slingshot shooting, football, and tennis. New this year is 'The Route of Healthy Routes,' promoted by the Directorate General of Public Health, with routes on all the islands to encourage active lifestyles. The Government has also highlighted the special security and emergency measures planned for the main days of the celebration to ensure the smooth running of the events.
