The families of CEIP Son Pisà continue the strike against Miquel Roldán, but the turnout falls
Strike follow-up drops to 48%, while families maintain protest for the continuity of the convicted teacher
PalmThe families of CEIP Son Pisà in Palma are maintaining the indefinite educational strike due to the presence of a teacher convicted of harassment, despite the fact that the follow-up to the protest has decreased in recent days.
According to the spokesperson for Apima, Verónica Fillol, participation stood at 48% this Tuesday, a decrease she attributes to the “work-life balance problems” of many families. Despite this, they have decided to maintain the strike until the professor's situation is resolved.
The decision comes after a meeting with the director of the Balearic Office for Children and Adolescents (OBIA), Esther Balaguer, from which, according to Fillol, they have obtained "no clear answer". Although they have been told of the willingness to "help" and do "the possible", the families consider that "everything remains a bit up in the air".
Regarding the teacher's future, the families believe that he could continue at the center despite the fact that the substitution he was covering ended this Tuesday, since, as they point out, these appointments are often renewed.
On the other hand, they have escalated the case to the Ombudsman so that he pronounces on the compliance with the regulations and to guarantee, as they emphasize, the rights of minors.
As part of the mobilizations, this Wednesday they have called for a sit-in in the park located between the center and the Son Pisà PAC, coinciding with the school's entry time.
