The GOB closes La Trapa during the eclipse to protect "a specially fragile space"
The entity restricts access to the farm on August 12 and 13 and prohibits camping there as a preventive measure.
PalmaGOB Mallorca will close the La Trapa estate between August 12 and 13 as a preventive measure to protect this space in the Serra de Tramuntana in view of the forecast of a high influx of visitors due to the solar eclipse.
The entity explained, through a message on social networks, that it has decided to "take extreme precautions" given the great promotion of the astronomical phenomenon and the overcrowding situation that Mallorca is experiencing. "In an already heavily overcrowded Mallorca, we have decided to protect such a fragile space as La Trapa," points out GOB.
In addition to closing the estate, camping will also be prohibited in this natural space, owned by the environmental organization since 1980. GOB emphasizes that this is a "specific and preventive" measure intended exclusively for the days of maximum expected attendance.
The entity also recalled that the restriction only affects access to the interior of the estate. The Gran Recorregut (GR) paths, on the other hand, are public property and their closure does not depend on GOB.
