PalmaThe chief of staff of the President of the Government, Alejandro Jurado, arrived this Tuesday "calmly", as he himself pointed out, shortly before 09:30 a.m. at the courts on Alemanya Avenue to testify as an investigated person for a minor offense of administrative prevarication in relation to alleged irregularities in the selection process of a driver that ended up benefiting a relative.

Prohens' right-hand man was in the courtroom for just over five minutes and only answered the questions posed by his lawyer. Upon leaving, he once again appeared "calm" to the media and said that it had gone "very well".

Together with him, the relative who allegedly benefited from it is summoned to testify.

The judicial proceeding stems from a complaint in which a civil servant accused the chief of staff of the President of the Government, Marga Prohens, of devising a plan to modify the bases of a driver selection process so that a relative of hers, who had applied for the position along with 200 other applicants, would benefit.

The civil servant, who has been suffering from an anxious-depressive condition for two years as a result of these events, considers that Jurado orchestrated an "illegal, unjust, and arbitrary" plan to secure a job for his relative, by manipulating a public employment call for the coverage of the driver's position, according to Europa Press.

The regional Executive has defended at all times that this is an appointment by free designation following the established procedure.

Last Thursday, the complainant ratified the complaint and assured that he remains very psychologically affected.

When the complaint was made public at the end of November, Prohens expressed her "absolute calm" and stressed that the driver's hiring was done through a "regulated procedure".
