PalmaTemperatures above average and numerous tropical nights. This is the conclusion reached by Aemet and presented this Tuesday. According to the State Meteorological Agency, the Islands will have a hotter than usual summer, especially during the months of July, August, and September, when the average temperature could be between 0.5 and 1 degree above normal values.

This was explained by the territorial delegate of Aemet in the Balearic Islands, María José Guerrero, who pointed out that the agency's seasonal models give a 70% probability that the next quarter will record a temperature higher than the climatic average in the Islands.

Guerrero pointed out that this forecast anticipates a summer with numerous tropical and torrid nights and considered it "quite probable" that several heatwaves will be recorded during the summer months, in a scenario similar to last year. Regarding precipitation, the forecast points to normal values for the season. According to Aemet's models, rainfall will be around the climatic average for the Balearic Islands, which is around 92 liters per square meter.

By months, June, July, and August will show a precipitation forecast within normality, with almost no possibility, while September shows a slight tendency towards values higher than usual. The astronomical summer will begin on June 21st at 10:24 AM and will last until September 23rd at 02:05 AM, with a total duration of 93 days, 15 hours, and 41 minutes.
