The Jesuits complete the transfer of the Monti-sion school to Víctor Madera
Madera will have the school's spaces for 70 years.

PalmOn September 1st, the Jesuits made effective the 70-year transfer of the spaces of the Monti-sion school in Palma, which are now the responsibility of the executive president of the Quirón group, businessman Víctor Madera.
In a statement this Friday, the religious order detailed that it has "scrupulously fulfilled the contract" and that the spaces are now "at the disposal of the transferee" after completing the relocation of the educational institution to the new building in Son Moix. "This process has required a significant investment and effort on the part of the order, which built the new school in a timely manner to guarantee the conservation and comprehensive restoration of the Monti-sion block," the order detailed in the statement.
Furthermore, the future use of the space corresponds to Madera, "whose interest, as he has expressed, is to use it as a medical residence for the elderly." As for the assets linked to the center and the church, the religious order has separated those for educational use, transferred to the new center, and those of historical-artistic legacy, carefully cataloged and archived.
The historical heritage, in the hands of the Jesuits
Regarding the historical and artistic heritage, this "is and will be under the ownership of the Society of Jesus," which retains direct access to the spaces of the church, the sacristy, the altarpiece chapel, the cloister, and the museum of San Alonso Rodríguez.
Regarding the future restoration of the church, cloister, and museum, the Society of Jesus has stated that it "will participate in the development of the basic and execution project, as well as in the financing," without having received "any external support for this" to date. Furthermore, the Jesuits insisted that the church, cloister, and museum will continue to fulfill their religious and cultural purposes, with special attention to the memory of Saint Alonso Rodríguez, whose life and testimony continue to be "a source of inspiration and a model of humble service and dedication to one's neighbor."
