PalmaThe mayor of Felanitx, Catalina Soler, will have to testify next July 3 in the Manacor courts for an alleged crime of disclosure of secrets committed against the local police officer with whom she had an incident last summer during a party. The judicial summons comes after the court admitted for processing the complaint filed by the agent.

The judge will have to clarify whether the fact that Soler disclosed during a municipal plenary session (which was broadcast online) some personal data of the agent, with his full name and the score he obtained during the selection process, can constitute a crime of disclosure of secrets.

The events are framed within the crossfire of accusations that the municipal agent and the mayor starred in last summer following a report drafted by the former – and sent to the judge – in which he accused the latter of having threatened him during the celebration of the Festa del Vi de Portocolom. The mayor responded by appearing in the proceedings in a personal capacity. She also filed a complaint for disclosure of secrets against the police officer and a former socialist councilor, whom she accused of leaking the aforementioned report to the press. Soler repeatedly denied all the facts reported by the agent and accused him of directing sexist comments and gestures towards her and making observations about women's sexual attitudes.
