PalmThe Minister of Youth and Childhood, Sira Rego, has visited the Naüm Foundation with the aim of learning firsthand about the protection and good treatment policy promoted by the entity, within the framework of the deployment of the Organic Law for the Comprehensive Protection of Children and Adolescents (LOPIVI). During the visit, the minister was able to get closer to the work that the foundation carries out in matters of guaranteeing rights, preventing violence, and promoting the well-being of children, adolescents, and young people in situations of special vulnerability.

In this context, Sira Rego met with children and young people who are part of Naüm's childhood and adolescence participation council. This space for real participation allows them to express their opinions, share proposals, and convey their concerns, influencing the entity's decisions.

In this regard, the council has consolidated itself as a fundamental tool for guaranteeing the right to participation, fostering that children, adolescents, and young people feel heard, recognized, and taken into account, both within the foundation and in their role as active citizens in society.

Likewise, the Minister of Youth and Childhood met with a group of former wards from the Balearic Islands who are pursuing basic vocational training in domestic plumbing and air conditioning at the Naüm Foundation. During the meeting, the young people recounted the situations they experienced after turning 18 and leaving the protection system. This is because, in addition to facing significant administrative difficulties and the absence of a family or social support network, they have found themselves in situations of residential exclusion, even having to live on the street, despite being students.

The management team of the Naüm Foundation, headed by Margalida Jordà, has highlighted that this reality blocks emancipation processes and severely limits their real opportunities for personal, educational, and professional development, and therefore, they have recalled that addressing this issue requires placing young people at the center of policies.

Additionally, the group of young participants in the ISTMO project, a cultural and community initiative driven by the Othman Ktiri Foundation and developed in collaboration with the Naüm Foundation and the production company Quindrop, took advantage of the minister's presence to conduct a brief interview with her, which will be part of the project's audiovisual pieces and the collective documentary they are developing.

Finally, the management team of the Naüm Foundation explained the social reality of the Son Roca neighborhood, emphasizing that understanding its situation makes it possible to visualize a broader problem, which occurs in other neighborhoods of the country. For all these reasons, the entity has highlighted the importance of promoting comprehensive public policies that address social inequalities from a community-based, preventive perspective, focused on the rights of children and youth.
