PalmThe National Police have arrested three men and a woman in Palma as alleged perpetrators of an attack against authority and public disorder following the demonstration in solidarity with the hijacking of the Flotilla and the people on board by Israel that was heading to Gaza on October 5 in Palma.

After the reading of the manifesto in front of the Spanish government delegation, riot police began charging at a group of people who had allegedly thrown firecrackers and flares at them, according to the force.

Police charges

The anti-capitalist collective explained that the first arrest took place on October 23rd, and the rest were arrested in the following days, one of them at their workplace. In response to these events, Aurora has demanded the release of those arrested and stated, "We know that this operation, as usual, aims to intimidate activists, but political repression will not stop our solidarity."

According to the National Police, at the end of the protest, officers identified several people. At that moment, one of them allegedly threw a blunt object at an officer's helmet, and a group then attacked the officers with objects and by pushing them. Following the incident, the National Police opened an investigation to identify the group involved, locate the individuals, and arrest them for the alleged crime of assaulting a police officer. The police force has stated that the investigation remains open and that those arrested have already been brought before a judge.
