The Paco de Lucía Mallorca festival opens the call for applications for the 3rd Young Talents Grant
The festival presents the special fifth anniversary edition of Ball in Boston
The Paco de Lucía Mallorca Festival, in collaboration with the Paco de Lucía Foundation, has announced the opening of applications for the 3rd Young Talents Grant, a program created to promote emerging artists born or residing in the Balearic Islands and support their international careers. In 2026, to mark the festival's 5th anniversary, the grant is being offered as a special scholarship dedicated to dance, understood from a broad, contemporary, and interdisciplinary perspective, always in dialogue with flamenco, its language, aesthetics, and innovative spirit. The recipient will attend the Commercial Dance Intensive (CDI) at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, an intensive program focused on the technical, artistic, and professional development of dancers in an international environment. The grant covers tuition, round-trip travel, accommodation, meals, and a certificate of completion. The course will take place from July 6 to 25, 2026. Young performers and creators aged 15 to 25, born or residing in the Balearic Islands, with a solid artistic development and clear potential for growth, who are developing proposals related to dance, are eligible to apply for the scholarship. The application period will be open from January 13, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. to February 19, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. The decision will be announced within a maximum of 10 days after the application deadline. III Young Talents Scholarship in Boston
As part of its international outreach, the Paco de Lucía Mallorca Festival will publicly present the 3rd Young Talents Scholarship in Boston, within the framework of a cultural exchange in collaboration with Berklee Global. On Tuesday, January 27, 2026, two free events will take place connecting flamenco, contemporary creativity, and education. First, a flamenco fusion piano masterclass for students, where they can learn and study firsthand the techniques and artistic approach of pianist and composer Andrés Barrios. Second, a concert open to the public featuring Barrios, recently nominated for the 2025 Latin Grammy Awards, the main artist of this international exchange and one of the Paco de Lucía Mallorca Festival's key figures representing the new generation of flamenco, alongside dancer Nino. masterclass The event will take place at Berklee College of Music, while the concert will be held at the Boston Conservatory at Berklee, in the Red Room of Café 939 (939 Boylston St., Boston, MA).

Inaugural gala at the Main Theater
The official awarding of the scholarship will take place, as usual, during the grand opening gala of the Paco de Lucía Mallorca Festival at the Teatro Principal in Palma, in conjunction with the Paco de Lucía Foundation. The event will be attended by prominent figures, institutions, and collaborating organizations.
