The port of Palma exceeds the cruise ship limit with four vessels and nearly 15,000 passengers.
The regulations establish a maximum of three cruise ships and a total of 8,000 passengers per day.

PalmThe Port of Palma doubled this Saturday the cruise passenger limit established in the agreement, which limits the number of cruise ships that can arrive at the port of Palma on the same day to three, and the total number of passengers to 8,000. However, Palma currently accommodates four vessels docked, with a combined capacity of over 14,000 passengers.
The largest of all is the MSC Virtuosa, with capacity for up to 6,334 passengers, followed by AidaCosma, with 5,200. Between the two, they have the capacity of a mega-cruise ship, which establishes the agreement limiting this type of vessel in Palma, as they exceed 5,000 cruise passengers.
In addition, the profile of X, Fum al Port also notes that the Marella Voyager, with capacity for 1,912 passengers, and the Seabourn Ovation, with 600 cruise passengers, have also docked in the port of Palma.
It should be remembered that the agreement signed between the Government and the employers' association CLIA in 2022 establishes that only three cruise ships per day and a maximum of 8,000 tourists can dock in the port of Palma. Furthermore, the regulations also stipulate that of the three vessels, only one could be a mega-cruise ship with a capacity of more than 5,000 passengers, according to the limitation in force until 2027.
