The woman murdered by her son-in-law in the Colònia de Sant Jordi died beaten

PalmaThe two forensic doctors who testified this Tuesday at the jury trial at the Audiencia de Palma concluded that the 74-year-old woman allegedly murdered by her son-in-law in Colonia de Sant Jordi in September 2024 received multiple blows and kicks that caused her severe fractures in the cranial, cervical, and thoracic areas, injuries incompatible with life.

As explained during the session, the injuries are compatible with repeated kicking. One of the specialists also indicated that no injuries were observed during the examination that would suggest an attempted defense by the victim.
The Public Prosecutor's Office is requesting 20 years in prison and compensation of 150,000 euros for the family, while the private prosecution is requesting a permanently revisable prison sentence. The defense, for its part, is requesting acquittal.
On the first day of the trial, held on Monday, the victim's daughter —the accused's ex-partner—, police officers, and several witnesses already testified. The woman explained that she had withdrawn two previous domestic abuse complaints out of fear of the defendant and described a living environment marked by arguments, insults, and threats, to the point of sleeping with furniture blocking the door.
She also recounted that on the day of the events, she received a phone call from her mother while she was working in a bar and heard "heart-rending" screams, which caused her to head to the property in a state of shock.
The agents who intervened located the victim in the garage, lying face down and in a pool of blood. In the vicinity they found the accused with traces of blood on his feet, flip-flops, and trousers, although he distanced himself from the events.
According to the Prosecutor's Office's account, the man allegedly attacked his ex-partner's mother on the porch of the property and allegedly kicked her repeatedly in the head for at least 15 minutes, causing fatal injuries.
On the same day, a bar customer who heard "horrible" screams also testified, as well as a neighbor who recorded the accused on the property shortly after the crime, and who stated that he had heard calls for help moments before.
